Still no running and my alternative training is shrunk down a little bit - I need kind of a mental break from it ;)
However, I will visit a physical therapist today (very expensive unfortunately...) and let him have a look at my foot.

It has been a very frustrating week so far, and the circumstances are really beating down my motivation to keep training 2 sessions a day. However, I still manage to do 1h of deep water running a day.
On Monday I had my appointment at the physician of Bisbebjerg Hospital, but as I expected it was not very enlightening. In fact, the only feedback I got out of it was that they are not sure if it is a stress fracture and that now, after eight weeks of waiting, I soon would be ready anyway and therefore don´t need any further treatment... Well, while I was angry about not getting any information from the physicians, I was also certain not to go there again.
On Tuesday, I then tried to run, but my food hurt so much, that I had literally to stop after 1min. Actually it felt even worse than 2 1/2 weeks ago, when I tried running the last time. So, that´s why I really had a frustrating week - and I really could not overcome to do 11h of deep water running this week. I will probably end up with 7h to 8h of training, which is not too bad either.
Its really disappointing that this might be the 3rd summer in a row without competing at all! That´s out of question and I might really be in a poor shape this summer, but I will keep it like the great Seb Coe:
The great thing about athletics is that it's like poker, sometimes you know what's in your hand and it may be a load of rubbish, but you've got to keep up the front.

With this in mind...
Greetings to all

Yet another week of several hours of deepwater running...
I can again log 11 hours of training in the swimming pool, but I am really getting tired of it. Tomorrow, I have an appointment at Bisbebjerg Hospital again.
Moreover, I hope when I will try running next week it will be more succesful than two weeks ago.

But even if it will turn out that I can start jogging again, it will not be more than 5min. So I better expect to spent most of my training in the pool for the next couple of weeks anyway...

All the best and have a good week!

Yesterday, I followed Anna with the bike on her run. It was sunny, about 4 degrees Celcius and I really missed lacing my shoes and going out for a run. However, I took some pictures of Anna running.

Anna is getting now some training in again, and even though it is not much, its a start and we will see where it leads to.

Keep on running

Five runners I coach at my club Frederiksberg IF, participated just over a week ago at the Danish Cross Country Championships (short course). The team, which consisted of Kristoffer, Peter, Morten, Jarl and Henning achieved a 20th place among 41 teams. I was pleased with their performances and I am sure they will improve further so that we will place even better next time.
Results from Danish XC:
50.Kristoffer Thygesen (nr. 7. in U23 category)
73.Peter Søgaard (nr. 9. in M30 category)
96.Morten Winckelmann (nr. 14. in U23 category)
126.Jarl Tuxen (nr. 21. in M40 category)
154.Henning Hansen (nr. 23. in M40 category)
